"Surviving high school is one of the hardest things for a teenager. Surviving high school as a GAY teenager ... well, that's damn near impossible, or it was in 2001 when I was a sophomore at Somerville High School.

"Project 10 East made it possible for me to get through those tough years, and without them I probably would not be the well-adjusted young adult I am now. As a 22-year-old college student, I have already been in various healthy and constructive relationships, as well as been an activist for gay civil rights—a strikingly different situation than I thought I would be in before I joined Project 10 East (when I thought I wouldn't have even come out until college).
